What are 3 things I learned in Module Four?
JeopardyLabs would be an entertaining way to have students review for a test in a F2F class, but I am not sure how I would be able to transfer this to an online setting.
In watching the edutopia videos, I found there are more effective ways to assess a student’s knowledge than through tests.
The course is halfway complete and it seems more a survey of Web 2.0 tools than a course that provides best practices for creating assessments for the online environment.
What are 2 insights you have about working in teams in an online learning setting?
This is only the second time that I have been involved in a team project in an online learning setting. In both instances, I have been paired with only one other person.I am not sure that these are typical representations of what working in a team in an online setting are meant to be.
The pairing that I had for the midterm project went smoothly. Each of us researched our portions independently and offered our drafts to one another for feedback prior to compiling for the final version. Communication was consistent throughout the week.
What is 1 piece of advice you would give about working in teams in an online learning setting?

The best way for a team project to be a success in an online environment is for each individual to understand what deliverables are expected and in what timeline these are to be completed. This needs to be communicated at the beginning of the project to level set the expectations of all the team members. At the University of Phoenix, student always had to complete a team charter before the project began, so that everyone’s roles and responsibilities were clearly defined. I would include this document in my own online courses if I were to require a team activity.
